Outstanding so far, can't wait to see more.  I hate to see people niggle over the minutiae when it's so had to get the overall feel of a scene through pinhole view of the camera lens.  I'm sure the view in person is even more remarkable then what you've been able to show us here.

By no means do I mean to be critical of your modeling skills . The bridge and surrounding scenery are fantastic. But I do not understand the bridge from an engineering stand point.  It looks like a girder bridge is supporting the tracks and it is surrounded by a truss structure.   

What am I missing ?

That's often how trusses work. Think about it this way: the truss adds a level of reinforcement to the girders where the girders have to cross a span that they wouldn't otherwise be able to handle.

It also makes building the bridge easier out in the middle of nowhere with no road access... only access being the railcar mounted assembly crane.

Ed, I am sure it would if only I understood it

Guess I never look at truss bridges closely enough before .
