I think that's good progress in one year.  Happy anniversary!

developed an operating scheme, still need to work out the sequence....

•   INTERSTATE Sunrise mine run behind an INT RS3 departs MILLER YARD, runs to COOPER, swaps empties/loads at Sunrise Coal #27 then runs to EMLYN for a run-around move to reverse direction then returns MILLER YARD

•   The SOU Blue Creek mine run behind SOU F7/RS3 departs APPALACHIA, runs to EMLYN for a run-around move to reverse power & caboose, then pushes the train uphill to SMACKWATER, swaps empties/loads at Blue Creek Coal #11 then returns EMLYN, after receiving clearance, returns APPALACHIA

•   Westbound LN thru train from NORTON runs EMLYN, picks-up/sets-out, runs to APPALACHIA (future power TBD)

•   SOU RS3 stationed at Harold Yard/EMLYN, switches local industries & Harold Yard

•   First Wiegand turn, departs EMLYN, runs WIEGAND, swaps cars at NW & LN interchanges, returns EMLYN
•   Second Wiegand turn, departs EMLYN, runs WIEGAND, switches local industries, returns EMLYN, switches ASTORIA on return
-Same power (Harold Yard switcher for now) used both turns, combined into 1 train if less than 10 cars or so total

•   EMLYN turn departs APPALACHIA, runs EMLYN via McGOWAN & GUENTHER switching trailing point sidings, arrives EMLYN, picks-up/sets-out cars for LN/NW first Wiegand turn, returns APPALACHIA via GUENTHER & McGOWAN, switching trailing point sidings (future power TBD). This may originate elsewhere if I extend the track labeled “future expansion” at lower right

Love the head end power. Who made the RS? Did it come of the box in SRR tuxedo?
I'm tempted to get something like this, strip the lettering and make it as ET&WNC # 209...

It's a Bachmann RS3 with sound....it was Seaboard, but I ordered a decorated shell from Bachmann and swapped it. I have a second one with a different road number

Very nice.  A laid-back southern vibe is beginning to emerge.
