When I switched to HO, I didn’t have everything planned specifically. My goal was to reuse the existing bench work as as-is as possible to save time and money. I was trying to come up with a industry for each of the two sidings that made sense. Then I finally came up with a single shipper for this location that’s plausible for the layout’s scheme/location that uses both sidings and will work with the planned scenery

This will be a company that receives hardwood logs in gondolas underneath the shed which will be over the track in front of the building. Rough-sawn hardwood lumber is loaded into boxcars on the shorter siding to the left and shipped out to furniture companies.

It might just be the backdrop tricking me, but that last shot looks very reminiscent of the Allagash.

Which is to say: excellent.

Thanks, that’s good to hear. That’s what I’m striving for. Mike Confalone’s Allagash videos are the inspiration behind the effort. The dark red building is actually based on one of his buildings at Weld. I am also using his general store at Weld as a guideline. I’ve painted the individual ties as his video demo’d.....always good to aim high. His work is superb.
