Is it just me or is there a huge jump in MSRP on the GP-39’s?

Yep, days of DC being an option are dwindling fast.  Really puts a damper on those who have a preferred decoder brand/type if they aren't using said company.

 :?

I thought the "Silver" edition is analog DC and the "Gold" edition is DCC-with-sound. I don't think there is a middle version that is DCC-without-sound.

Not really.  Same prices as previously announced GP38 and C628/630 models.  And the DCC/no sound is actually $20 less than last announced SD7/9 models back in February

This might be a wording issue, because releases before that were DC and DCC options were listed as "Standard" and "Decoder Equipped" vs now "Silver" and "Gold"

When I first read it it seemed to indicate silver versions would have a decoder, which I don't think is the case after re-reading the announcement...

Yes, they are DCC-ready and DCC with Sound.  I checked out the pre-order page at BLW (Hogtrainz), they have it listed as such

When you scroll down their page, you always see a "Standard Item" loco (non-DCC) and a "DCC Item" loco (DCC, sometimes plus sound).

It has been like that for years now. The only change was from Lenz (?) to NCE DCC decoders.

I usually buy Standard item locos, as I prefer TCS DCC decoders.
