Digitrax Zephyr for running speed matching scripts?

So I'm fairly familiar with Digitrax and JRMI although hardly an expert, having only used the club's system that has been set up and mostly maintained by others.  Now that I have some space at home I'd like to get my own DCC system, and the primary reason (at least initially) would be to speed match locos speed tables using scripts.  I've read this can be done; I've never done it.

Question:  Is a Digitrax Zephyr adequate for my needs?   I believe that the speed matching requires OPS mode programming and I seem to recall the Zephyr having limitations with that.

Please advise.

The Zephyr (DCS 50 or 51) supports both Ops mode and Programming Track mode. I use my original Zephyr on my programming / test / speed match track

Absolutely. Zephyr is a mini Chief with less current and less slots. Other then that it has the same capabilities. BTW, a DB150 Empire Builder will also work but you won't be able to read CV's.
