Hate to say it but maybe folks need to switch to Flickr or use TRW's attachment feature and be done with it. Far less hassle than what folks are seeing with other sites.
I will go so far as to say the days of free 3rd-party hosting are over. It seems like once a year or so a "free photo album site" pulls the rug out from under everybody, and I'm not just talking about Photobucket. This is... what?... the third or fourth time Google has messed with us, starting with the Picasa buyout and conversion?Tom has bought storage and bandwidth for TRW hosting - and is hopefully generating enough click-through revenue to pay for it. So instead of flailing about with Google's and others' bald-faced manipulation of our online behavior, for the members who depend on external hosting, let's use the album ability native to the forum and move on to more productive activities, such as, perhaps, a little bit of modeling?
Except you're only able to view TRW attachments when you're logged on, which I can't be when browsing from work.
Hi, Pete -Any chance you (or someone like you) can send me simple, clear, set-by-step instructions for posting a photo on the Rail wire site? Sort of like the instructions (now probably flawed) I posted for another member on page 5 of the Rivarossi Heavyweight thread dealing with this same topic? You can cut and paste from previous posts if that saves you time.Loren
Peteski: No, I didn't see anything yesterday, just a couple extra blank lines between the captions, which could have been simply pressing "Return" a couple times. Now, however, if I go back to the first page, all of the pictures are there. Nothing changed at this end, as far as I know.
Um, I just went back to the initial post and I again see all 3 photos (no changes have been on my computer since last night when I didn't see them). This is really weird!
I think that is it. When I was repeatedly viewing (and replying to) this post I was logged into my Gmail account (um, Goggle). I was seeing all the photos. I then logged out of Gmail, but I was still seeing all the photos. Then I did <SHIFT> Reload in my browser to flush the cached info and fully reload the page containing this thread. Now I'm in the same boat as you - I only see the 1st image and nothing shows up for others (not even the dreaded gray do-not-enter signs). It is really too bad that Loren couldn't get the local downloads to work - external photo hosting seems to be inconsistent.
Weird is right. I also see all three again. Damn Google!
