Problem getting photos posted here

Does anyone know if there is a setting on Google Photos (or anywhere else) that needs to be changed to allow my photos to be seen on computers besides my own? If so, how do I change it? I went to the Google photo site and explored, looking for such a setting but came up empty. Any ideas?

It's not just you, and it's not just Google. See this thread (particularly the last few posts) for some insight.

In this case it is Google.  Unless you have the perfect settings, your photo won't show, or it will initially show and then disappear.

Lets see if these images stay.

Seems like it's working even in incognito mode so here are the steps I'd try just to see if you cn get the pictures to post.

1.  Upload a new picture to Google Photos.

2.  When uploaded, it will ask you to add to an album.  Select 'Shared Album'.

3.  Then select "New Shared Album".

4.  The new album will show and you can name it.

5.  Click on the picture to get out of the album page and just the page for that picture.

6.  Right click the image and copy the address.

7.  Paste that address here between the
Code: [Select]
[img][/img] tags.

The image URL should have height and width numbers at the end of the long URL.  If not, you have the wrong URL.  Go back to the image and get it.

From there if I wanted another image to post here, I open Google Photos and open the new shared album I just created and drag-and-drop any new images right to the album.

This is what's worked for me, at least so far.

Jason

This is a test using the Google Shared Album. On this one, I added the ?jpg at the end before clicking on the little photo image seen above the Very Happy Smiley Face icon at upper left.

This a second test. On this one, I did not add the ?jpg at the end before doing the rest of the small image thing.
Can anyone out there see either of these images?

The "'?jpg" isn't necessary.  Hopefully the images will pictures stay up.

One thing you can do in the URL is manually change the width to something more forum friendly like 'w800'.  The height will automatically adjust.

I can see both of these images.

That's great! If I get some more positive responses from other members, then maybe the Shared Album selection is the answer. Thanks for responding, Pete!

Hi, Jason -

I must remind you that I'm really a sad case when it comes to understanding the internet and its various abbreviations. Can you steer me to where I need to find this URL of which you speak?

It's the long link to your picture.  Towards the end of the link are a  specified width (w) and a height (h).  In your post you can just change the width to something like 'w1024' or whatever and the image will resize.  Right now your images are 'w2139'.  You don't need to do this step, but sometimes it is nice to have some control over the image size.
