I found some of the models I brought to the Bay Area Prototype Modelers meet in the new Railroad Model Craftsman.  It was good meeting Associate Editor Harry Wong.

This was another productive week for me.

My heptane arrived at the start of the week and my two RDC shells went in for their long soak.  I purchased laboratory grade heptane from Amazon as Bestine is temporarily unavailable in Canada and it seems to work a little faster.  The shells have turned a nice shade of white.  It is difficult to assess the print quality through the glass jar so I will have to wait until they are out for a proper assessment:

I also re-equipped two Intermountain cylindrical hopper cars with Micro-Trains trucks and body mount couplers.  The next step for these cars will be some light weathering:

I also finished assembling my new MoW car, which included gluing the house assembly to the deck and adding the final details.  I am fairly happy with the way it turned out.  Here are a few different views:

Here it is with its intended load - an older model Caterpillar dozer:

And here it is on the tracks with ramps deployed.  The ramps store inside the housings on the deck as per the prototype and are notched to sit on the rails.  Next up for this model is a trip to the paint shop:

There you have it - an N Scale model of one of the British Columbia Railway's unique Cat Tool Cars.  Here is the prototype in later years with a newer Cat dozer on board:

My other major accomplishment this week was to complete the Motive Power and Rolling Stock pages for my new website.  I invite you to stop by and have a look at www.bcrdawsonsub.ca.

Thank you,

Tim

I work this weekend, I have not had too much time for modeling these days. With the wildland fires out in this end of the world, we almost always have a crew out, which means Overtime. July I ended up with 60 hours of OT, Aug it was 57 hours, and September has just started, and I'm already scheduled for a minimum of 72 hours. I'm ready for the rain to start again.

Anyways, I had the rare 3 of my normal 4 day block off, and I messed with my trains a little. I ended up somehow frying 2 NCE decoder, then using one for parts to fix the other. See here:

Other than that, on a small coffee table top layout I have been working on  I changed out the track, from Fleischmann track to a bunch of code 80 Atlas snap track I had lying around. The reason for this was to gain the ability to put in a passing siding.

I also kept up the work on "Neubrucke, Wa." Module, I'm still removing glue from the failed Styrofoam application. I'm putting down some plywood, and I want to have a good, flat surface. I've decided that this will be the last time I pull everything up to try again. I'm tired of starting over on this module.

Well, it's a Swift trailer, but @SecretWeapon is pulling it  :o

Didn't realize I had put it up there when I took the picture.  Then I figured I'd see how many Swift comments I get :D

There was a semi tractor and trailer on a post along I-29 north of Kansas City years ago, advertising a truck stop.  So why not on the roof of a warehouse?
