Gluing FUD/FXD to metal?

I designed a TSC box for the Athearn 89' flat but it requires gluing the FUD/FXD part to the underside.  I was wondering if anyone has had good results with anything in particular.  The way it's designed, I don't really need worry much about the push-pull, but rather need to hold it from dropping out with regular use.

Right now I'm using Gorilla Super Glue which may work but if can feel it cracking as I put pressure on it.  I tried regular Super Glue and it did nothing.  If I have a bottle of relabeled slow cure AC that hasn't dried out, I'm going to try that next.

What do you mean "super glue did nothing"?  It did not hold?  Where was the failure? On the FUD side or on the metal side? Were both metal and FUD totally clean and free of wax/oil?  Did you try using accelerator?  I couldn't model without ACC accelerator.  :)

I suspect that metal and FUD have different thermal expansion rates and large contact areas between metal/FUD might not hold anyways.  Can you make a physical connection (like screws or pins).  Plus if under enough stress (like dropping the model) even the strongest adhesive (or even fragile FUD itself) might crack.

There is always strong epoxy (liek JB Weld) which might work the best, but it will take overnight to harden.

I use Gorilla Super Glue for all my 3D printed stuff.  I can't recall gluing anything to metal though.
I regularly successfully glue 1015 boxes (roughened) to bare metal under frames.   They'll pop off if you press firmly or mis-handle, but I've never had a failure from layout operations, and I like to run long trains.
