Good Afternoon,

I know that there has been some discussion on these in various threads, but the announcement/flyers popped up on their Facebook page and website today.  Would anyone know what the B&O/Chessie hoopers were used for specifically?

Thanks,
Adam

Good to see the RC stuff get an upgrade. Would love to see more beer cars, and autoracks.

Would be nice to see the Evans coil cars get proper cushioned coupler pockets and 100T trucks instead of toy choo choo train trucks with couplers attached to them....

Shouldn't be too difficult to replace if need be...

Very glad to see these starting to emerge, especially the 2-bay hoppers.

BTW, the PDF mentions "our standard FVM trucks".  Anyone know what those might be?

The BN 4740s were delivered in 1970, so would be usable by almost any BN modeler.  Just one problem - the consolidated stencil is the modern (1980s?) version, and would have to be removed or replaced for anyone modeling the 1970s.  That could be difficult, depending on how it's printed.  Also, the reweigh date is 1980-something, and that would have to be changed, but there are plenty of decals that would work there.

Yes, it's a pet peeve of mine, companies that make an as-delivered model, but with just enough later lettering to make it hard to backdate to a new car.  And, yes, I know that peeves make very poor pets...

Probably the 100ton trucks used on the Rapid Discharge cars...

I believe these particular B&O/Chessie cars were for grain.  I'll be getting some.  The new roof and end details drastically improve these cars.

@chessie system fan thanks for the answer!  I'll probably be adding these cars too!

Thanks,
Adam

Gary

Is there a way to get to a PDF for these announcements rather than the really small jpeg on the Fox Valley website?

If you go to the FVM website - Our Products - N Scale and then click on the car you are looking for you can get larger images.

Looks like an expensive buy for me, considering I need covered hoppers galore, just wondering if the CSX/NS/BNSF ones would be appropriate plying Conrail's rails in Ohio,
