Is that a 48' Gunderson all-purpose husky stack in the background next to the GP39-2? Has that been announced previously?
Me too!...Maybe at least one in lightning strips, if it does come in the correct Phase. To get the older phase GP39-2 a GP38 could probably provide the parts, I'm thinking just splice the rear end on.. .. Yes, not all GP38 and 38-2s had the smaller fuel tank, but most did!..Some had even smaller than 2000 gal. as well, Milwaukee Road I believe...
That's a Pennsy G38 ore car from Bachmann, and item #18655, the black PRR scheme, appears to be accurate.
I'm waiting for the D&H Reading "masking tape number" scheme.
Number series is for a G39 hopper, but looks more like the g38, but that doesn't really matter as it doesn't represent the car well at all. It's the same mess as all their offerings (including the tank car). The main point being the ribs. It doesn't have the two ribs that extend down below the sill, and they put ribs out at the ends of the car instead of between the ribs in the center. Also some of the ribs aren't the same size as they should be. No point in even getting into any real detail. Jason
UP prototype?

Looking at the Botchman photo up close it looks like they got G39 on the car. Wow talk about doing no research at all, also 2 of the ribs are missing and it has horizontal end stiffeners.
The Railwire is not your personal army.
...The UP car is much easier to find pictures in MOW service. ...
