Sorry to change the subject, but I noticed that there was a discussion going on earlier in the thread regarding as to what Kato's next "name train" should be. Now, how popular is the Central Railroad of New Jersey when it comes to modeling in N scale? I ask because I've wondered if doing an N scale Blue Comet set wouldn't be all that bad. I mean, Kato has made japanese pacifics before. And while I don't know the exact dimensions of those compared to a CNJ G3, it could be a good place to start should a redesign be necessary. Regardless, I just wanted to see what you guys thought.
My statement was made in jest, but thanks for the info anyway.
Exhibit AWhen compared to the photos of the forthcoming N scale model in the Bachmann catalog, dead ringer.
There are Chinese prototypes in the USAhttp://www.rr-fallenflags.org/nysw/nysw-s0142cca.jpg
Who made the set of blue coaches and locomotive shown above?Rick
On the Bachmann Ore car, this site (run by an Australian) thinks it is a model of a Chinese C16 class car:http://www.chinesemodeltrains.com/encyclopedia_type.htmlMark
The models' major issue is of course that they are USA models with Chinese lettering that bears no reseblance to a real J2 livestock car.
