RJ Corman took over the defunct and beleaguered Carolina Southern railroad, a railroad I have a keen interest in because I hope to retire to the Myrtle Beach area in about 13 years. Anyway, they have gotten the railroad up and running and are trying to lure more companies to use rail. They are storing a fair amount of cars currently too which is easy money. They brought 2 GP38-2s with them and are fixing/painting 3 GP18s that came with the railroad. The former Baltimore and Annapolis switcher is still on the property. In this shot, both models can be seen. The 951 is operational and has been painted but not fully decaled for Corman.

I hate it when folks put trains on their layout without any weathering on them.  :P

:ashat: That blue and white lead Yorkrail diesel has a side logo that appears to have GD initials.  Any other of us old guys remember the Gore & Daphetid HO railroad?

Me too.

Then again, I generally HATE that G&W scheme in general. So any departure is a nice one.

Went Ziplining last week.  The only way to get to the lodge is via the Durango and Silverton!  Had an amazing time and definitely recommend it! http://soaringcolorado.com/

Me too.

Then again, I generally HATE that G&W scheme in general. So any departure is a nice one.

For me, in my area, G&W was a bright spot in otherwise dismal railroading. In the early 2000s Guilford was so bad at service that the state of Maine built a transload on St Lawrence and Atlantic so paper mills could get "around" Guilford, trucking their goods to the transload. Double stacks at track speed were fun to chase on warm summer nights.....Not to mention the GP40X carbodies, they look like "GP45"s!

Now that they've bought New England Central, Providence and Worcester, Claremont and Concord, and Connecticut Southern, it's becoming a bit "monochrome"..They just painted the recently acquired(and fresh painted)  P&W SD70s, that was kind of a bummer(and I guess they're headed to the B&P too )..Hopefully they don't acquire VTR as well... :scared:

Why they had to repaint the Maryland Midland fleet is beyond me, though. That was a damn fine paint scheme...
