An old friend  8) Many years ago someone asked me to build them a 4-4-0 camelback like the one I had. I started building it https://goo.gl/photos/QyNMEF5HvsD2QJbAA
But after a short while I just asked if I could send the one had already built. Well they told me they were getting out of N scale and wanted to send it back to me!

Many years ago, Redball made etched brass sides for Minneapolis and St Louis troop sleeper baggage cars in N Scale. I finally got around to them. Needs silver paint and custom decals made.

Chris, if you're building one then I'd like to be first in line! PM me with the details on where I need to mail my MP 4-4-0 chassis or how to get my hands on the custom brass parts to roll my own!

This was like 10 years ago and I never did build his model, just sent him mine. I do still have all the pieces of the second one I started though.

Shops are taking a break from the Big Alco project, momentarily giving their attention to the enormous backlog of rolling stock needing wheelset and coupler upgrades. One of about a dozen cars have passed through in the past two days:

FVM wheelset replacements on a number of recently acquired cars having pizza cutters, and TSC on anything that isn't a "big project" for body-mounted boxes, such as hoppers and tanks. Those we'll deal with later, procrastinated in the hope that MTL will see their way to conversion kits for the more popular cars.

Cognoscenti shorthand - MTL True Scale Coupler. Covered ad nauseum here.

Chris, that camelback is stunning. This from a guy that thinks camelbacks are ugly

This is what I hope to work on this weekend. Start adding details and weathering.
