According to the website it is out of service for unexpected restoration. I was hoping to catch the RSD-15.

"Unexpected Restoration" sounds like a euphemism for "Oops we broke it!"

ASTA has had some issues recently with motive power. They were not running trains for a bit because of electrical issues with the RSD 15. It needs PTC equipment installed as well. They also recently bought an ex Belt Railway of Chicago C425 with a bad generator or air compressor that needs work too.

The ex SP 2-8-2 #786 is still out of service, going on around 15 years now..

But it's still nice to live near a working tourist train!

I didn't get a lot of modeling done but I did get to railfan C&O #7534 this weekend. I got to catch it at several locations as it headed towards Clifton Forge to the C&O Historical Society.

Surprised the goons at CSX didn't make them haul it on a flatbed truck.

My apologies on the delay, but here are a couple shots with the exterior lighting on.

Thanks for looking,

David

The lamp placements at all the right locations along with the era appropriate warm yellow incandescent effect are done very well. Especially like how all the lampshades are angled down to avoid direct view of the LEDs and also allowing the light to disperse in a conical fashion.  - Bravo!

Put a decoder in this Lifelike BL2 (had to grinddown the rear weight, but then Iit fit right in).  Changed out the couplers with a MT 905 on the front and a 1015 in the rear.  Filled in the pilots as well.  Put 905's on this Atlas caboose as well.  I'm surprised by how well it runs.
