I managed to get 2 DZ126 decoders installed and operating in a couple of older Atlas/Kato engines that I was trying to use CN-GP decoders in.  The CN's wouldn't do a damn thing, swapped out for the DZ's with no modifications or changes and they work flawlessly .  Think I'm done with the CN's.

Then I started on Medford Trains The Mill Kit .  I had painted the exterior walls a couple weeks ago, so I figured I'd better get along with the build before any warping of the material took place.  Here is where I left off, with the roof sections just sitting there for looks.  Much more work to do on it.

It is only about 17' long, what could power an N scale version?

Oooohhhh... the guy just moves into HO and already saying N scale is too small. 

Actually, the N scale version (with the power truck) would look more prototypical, seeing it would have only 2 axles instead of 4. Put a bunch of seated figures at the doorways, paint the motor casing black, and nobody will notice the interior.

I know that you are attempting humor but Chris has always been multi-scale modeler. He dabbles in H0n3 and even on On3 (IIRC).   He didn't just move to H0.

The prototype for that speeder looks a lot like the ones used on Nprthwestern logging roads.  And I agree, it would probably sell in N and Nn3.  Since I doubt that it was over 8 or 9 feet wide, the same body could be used for both.  Logging roads weren't particular about standard widths, as long as it stayed on the track.

Out of the 4 CNs that I have tried, only one works. They are dead to me.

Just figuring here. An N scale speeder would have something like a 1.210" x 0.365" opening for the chassis. That TU-TMC100 chassis is 1.292"x0.441" So if scaled down it wouldn't fit. So it would need to be 0.082" longer and 0.076" wider.  Don't quote me on any of this

Thanks for the offer and time spent , I ordered 2 . If I need to I will section it and add shims to both widen and lengthen as needed . Piece of cake . Thanks again  .

I should have warned you!    Let me know if Shapeways says it won't print.

I can scale down the model at Shapeways, but when I open the saved scaled down model it ends up the original size in Sketchup so "so far" I have no way to alter the scaled down model. Once I get that figured out it should be easy to make it fit the chassis out of the box.

I hope they at least print well, they will be some tiny parts! The whole thing should only be 1.320" long

OK Jason showed me how to resize the Sketchup model. I bulked up a few areas got rid of the hand rail holes and added 3D handrails. Also made it .100" longer and .100" wider. No red spots on the heat map, but this is still small!
