Considering how many people have Chargers painted up as the General, it’s even prototypically plausible for someone to be driving it to work!

I remember the first time that I saw a General Lee in the wild back in 1991.  It was parked outside a shop near Sparta, North Carolina.

I started some of the chrome parts.  Thanks for the heads-up on those chrome paint markers, @chicken45.

Can you imagine if I had stripped a red car and painted it orange, only to find out later that the prototype was actually red?  Welcome to life as a colorblind guy. 😆

Yep, still remember seeing one down the street from my grandparents' house back when I was a kid. The Dukes of Hazzard was my favorite show at the time so I would always go down to look at it. They always have a whole row of them during Mopar Days in Carlisle, PA.

Add one more Charger to the line in Carlisle!  😀  Honestly, I just started the decals, but the roof and door decals give instant gratification of what this will be.

Someone needs to crank out some "turbine" wheels on their 3d printer!

Now you have to do a dozen more to represent the cars they wrecked for each episode... :x

And one can't help but wonder, when will Daisy be making an appearance on the A&R?

Gettin’ there. I tackled a little more detail paint (e.g., door handles and windshield wipers) and the rest of the decals. The decals were a pleasure to work with, and the decal film is almost completely invisible before the clear coat. I just have to figure out how to mask the front and rear fascia, paint those areas, and touch up the headlights and taillights. Unfortunately, the rear fascia is black around the taillights, not orange.

I successfully masked (sort of) for the black paint on the rear fascia.  There wasn’t a solid area to tack the tape at those thin edges at the corner, but it’s good enough for me.  Any further messing with it would only make it worse.  After the black paint dried, I hit the tail lights with the chrome pen and then a dab of Tamiya Clear Red paint for the tail light lenses.  There’s also a teeny dab of chrome on the trunk lock.  The bumper needs a touch-up, but I’ll wait until after the clear coat.

If the front fascia and headlights go this well, I’ll be ecstatic.  About that clear coat though, I must add that it makes me nervous.  I’ve had some tough luck with clear coats in the past year or two.  And, since the decal film is already damn near invisible and I don’t want more gloss (the real General Lee was not too shiny, so reflections of the camera and crew didn’t show in the paint during taping), the lazy side of me says don’t do it.
