Rear wall windows and doors are done.  I just have the front facade to do.

I really like that the fronts of those structures face away from the layout fascia.
Just please avoid the "massive signs with lots of dead space that could be read by someone flying overhead on an airliner" thing that most model railroaders seem to have to have. Oh yeah, and they usually have to have typefaces that didn't exist in the layout's timeframe (almost always Helvetica or other similar typefaces that didn't exist until the 60s or later)..
I tell people all the time that most business signs are quite small, usually no bigger than a few feet in each dimension, unless of course it's a large building itself that want's be noticed from a nearby highway. Signs on businesses like the ones in these structures above would be small.

I'm looking forward to excellent reproductions of 70s and 80s signage in use, honestly.

I agree regarding signage.  Photos of the 1:1 stores in Aberdeen don’t have large signs at all.  Hopefully, I can find some era-appropriate signs from Aberdeen in the 1980s, but I haven’t had much luck finding any to date.

Six more windows on the front facade knocked out.  I just have to do the storefront and then the windows/doors will be finished on this small group of buildings.

Dave have you ever tried using a liquid mask, like Humbrol Maskol?

I've had some good success using this to mask of loco windows and a few buildings.
Not sure if it would be as tedious as masking is?
Just a thought...

I actually have a bottle of MicroScale Micro Mask, but it seems to be more fussy work than masking.  I’ve got a routine down, so that I masked all six windows in probably 20-25 minutes, which is way faster than the first few windows I masked.

By the way, the storefront is painted:

I've been doing some googling myself for my York needs. It's a surprisingly hard challenge. If only Streetview went back that far... lol.

If you do let me know - I need some faded versions as background materials!

Forward images to me and I'll make proper signs out of them.

Also, dammit! After browsing around Aberdeen on Google maps... now I want to go there.
