Heh, before starting work today, I roughed out a cart path to see how this would fit. Sure, I’d like more room, and the cart path is a little tight to the track. But, that’s okay; I’m only trying to fill this space at the aisle with something prototypical for Southern Pines, North Carolina. I only need to imply the golf course. As expected, I’ll just get the corner of the green and the right front sand trap. Pin placement may not be ideal. DFF
And add some golf balls to the ballast....
I’m kinda mad at myself for not thinking about that; you’ve also got Pinehurst along the Aberdeen, Carolina, and Western there too. I don’t know if I’d butt the cart path that close to the tracks, but it’ll probably still look the part regardless so carry on!This reminds me, I need to figure out how to scratch hold that disc golf basket for my layout…
add a couple of small pines between the path and the road -- and a no trespassing sign next to the cart path by the ROW -- also one of those trash cans where the cart parks and a ball washer to complete the scene
Be sure to add white stakes along the ROW, marking out of bounds
Obviously I don't know the scene or the area and admittedly didn't look at any of the links, but is there not a chain link fence or something to prohibit trespassing on the ROW?
Too late! I like the cart path. I did narrow it again, though, which I thinks makes a difference. The cart path helps set the scene, and it exists on the real golf hole. This afternoon, there was a little terraforming to rough in the bunker, the green, and to plant the cart path.
