You don't have enough room for all those letters
No, I didn't. Just lucky, I guess. So, at some point Amtrak dictated that all business or privately-owned cars have to match Amtrak's livery? What years? Clearly, that's Amtrak's Phase II stripes on that SCL car.DFF

I forget the details. It changed pretty quickly when enough of the host roads told them to F*** off, I think.
Watch me try. That's right... he's a lawyer... it's all about the fine print.
I have a feeling, since that's clearly from the SCL days (pre-1983), and I model 1983-86, that Amtrak's policy ended long before 1983. But, I would imagine that it's likely that some of those cars weren't repainted immediately. That's the story I'll go with. So, Oscar will stay silver.I was thinking about this last night. I will try to remove that white "Amtrak" lettering from the red stripe. If that doesn't work, I can either patch the red, or if that looks bad, I might be able to use my red trim film over the entire red stripe to make the red uniform across the car side. While I thought about that, I also considered applying a red stripe over each of the blue and red stripes, retaining the white stripes that separate and outline the colors. That would lose the obvious Amtrak livery and look like a quick fix by a low budget short line. Thanks,Dave
Dave, your last idea is how I was thinking I would do it for exactly the same reasons. For such a short car I would recommend a shorter name for it than Oscar. Maybe “Osy”? But, “Oscar” apart from being a nice name, does perhaps also indicate the last part of a previous longer name which sort of fits with a cut down car too
But Dave, the color of it, really, looks more like baby-poo brown. Ewwww.
Oh, and if anyone were to release even a foobie of this Seaboard System business car, "Georgia," I'd be all over it like fur on a weasel. That and the Georgia 300 privately-owned car.DFF
3D model it and I'll print the body for you. There's a -chance- that I can do it sometime soon -- I'm looking into just printing sides for existing Walthers cars, and in the case of heavyweights I already want to print a balloon roof. That car would be fairly straightforward.
