So @u18b i may be the death of you for asking...
but are you going to attempt the 4 bulb headlight on that one?  :D
Cause your three bulbed version was awesome!

Thanks Nscaler711,

Yes, I'll be doing 4.  It will be a challenge, but I think I can do it.

There are two of them that had 4 lights.  E-1 and E-2.
The rest had 3.

I'm just glad I'm moving a bit faster.
The first one took about a year and a half.
The second took almost 2 years.   Although I have another that was pretty far along during that 2 years.

So now, I'm working on 3 and hope to have them all done by Christmas.

I'm looking forward to seeing that four bulb head light!

I finished the final round of speaker testing for the N Scale Royal Hudson project.  Results are posted in the build thread.

Those gons look wonderful . With the treads so visible on the focal point hot metal car have you thought of putting fine scale metal wheels on it ?

That's a good thought and I may give it a try. These cars are a bit touchy so I will have to test for tracking and derailments.

Got the rest of the wagons painted, decaled, and equipped with the correct undergear today.

[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Also got two of the flats loaded and the wagons chocked down.  I'm waiting to do the rest until I get the flats decaled.

Had an opportunity yesterday to visit John Parker's incredible HO scale BNSF Fall River Division layout: http://www.bnsfrr.net/

At 3000 sqft, this is one impressive (overwhelming, really) home layout.  If you ever visit, it's not a bad idea to leave a trail of bread crumbs so that you can find your way back out.    ;)

I'm decalling my N Scale BNSF AC44C4M... I forgot how much I dislike these stripes! Don't worry, the handrails are just stand-ins for decaling, the finished ones will be black and yellow.

Someone on FB posted a photo of their attempt at weathering this same car earlier this week, looking for feedback on their job.  It was basically just black and rust paint just splashed and smeared all over the car.  I had made the comment that while it's good to see people step out of their comfort zone and try new things, look at prototype photos to get a better feel for how cars weather and such.  Turns out, he took his photo down.  But it got me in the mood to show what can be done using the prototype for examples.  Just so happens my favorite source, rrpicturearchives.net, had 2 pictures of the car in question.  Now I'm not a rivot counter, but here's what I've been able to do with my limited skills using paint and fine tip permanent markers.  Still have to find a clear coat that doesn't make the marker bleed.

Going thru my stash, turns out I had 3 of the same number, so I did it 3 times.

Here is the prototype photo, unfortunately I don't have a shot of the other side.
