The back half you see has posts that go about 1/4" into the foam. I drilled holes for them. This way I didn't have to trim them all.

Used the same 3D file for both houses. Cut the back off the far house and used it for the near back porch.

Running out of space, but I wanted a section house. While I was at it I added this tool shed/pump house.

And I made a smaller caboose

And these cars are cast in resin from Chivers Finelines of W.W.&F. passenger cars. If I can get the windows cleaned up better I think I'll build these up.

That tool shed is a D&RGW standard plan for a coal shed, modeled after the one at Rico on the RGS.

It all looks really, really good.  I especially love the passenger cars.  They will look amazing behind your 2-6-0.  Going Pullman Green or Tuscan Red?

Yeah the tool shed is from Design Tech, their speeder shed was a little too big for this area so I made my own.

Want to go green with the PAX cars, assuming I can file all those windows straight.

The best thing I like about your layout is you contoured the land, then you fit the buildings into the landscape by using post foundations where required. One thing I detest is where buildings are just plopped down on the layout without being worked “into” the layout... if that comment makes sense.

Well done.

Chris’s next post will be, “I was only working on structures, and now, suddenly, the entire layout is shorted out!”

All planted. The pump house is up on large (well really small) rocks for a foundation.

And I did some more scenery under the trestle so I could add the side braces. This will eventually become the worlds first spider condominium.  :D

While reading up on the Waynesburg & Washington RR I couldn't find any of the places on a map because they were long gone. So I made up an online map of the railroad.

https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1ibeSfl3NNyIdCJ2IfquIhmqESVhe7COt&ll=40.04318511671076%2C-80.30432795001434&z=11

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waynesburg_and_Washington_Railroad

Most of it's life it was ran by the PRR similar to the OR&W. Some of the cars were made at PRR Fort Wayne shops and some cars were the same for both railroads. Of course they each had their own cars they started with.

Interesting thing is the last steam train on the W&W was in 1933. But for some reason the PRR was worried about keeping the ROW to reach coal mines. So to "keep supporting the communities" along the line they standard gauged most of the line. They never ran "trains" on it after that only a small speeder and rail truck. It is crazy that they spent so much time and money on the ROW after they stopped running trains.

Beg to differ. I've been building spider condos since before you were born... ;)

Reminiscent of the Ma & Pa.  That 164' radius horseshoe between Dunn and Penn Hill could be modeled in N scale with 12 3/8" radius track!

Chris,

I can't see anything wrong with the passenger car windows.  Sometimes I think modelers get wrapped around the axle about details that no one else will ever notice.  That's one of the nice thing about HO scale, in HO you can do a lot of detail, but in O scale you have to do a lot of detail
