Chris, are the gons available for purchase ?

I never thought about making more, but guess I could. Do you model narrow gauge?

Earlier it took me about 3 hours to draw up another different gondola. Came home from work and it looked great. Stuck some trucks under it and man was it wide...    When drawing I made sure to narrow it 6", but I didn't realize it was standard gauge not 36"     So I just spent another hour narrowing it another 8".  Here is the first wide one on the left.



It also shows another problem. How do you drill screw holes in something like a flatcar? The car on the right is getting a ballast load so I just put a stiffening block down the center and didn't worry about it. The one on the left I want to keep open so I made an opening just inside the sills to put two 1/16" tungsten rods. And the bolsters have holes through them for the truss rod ends.

Hmmmmm I just looked it up. The new gondola was from Nevada Central Railroad and it WAS 3' gauge:

Oh well either way I need to narrow it. Already shortened it 2 feet down to 25' long.

 I agree, He need to hold classes sometime on the weekend that most of us could participate. I tried use to the validator from github, but can't figure it out at all. I downloaded something from the github validator page, but as far as I can tell it's not the validator.

 Just keep up the awesome work Chris.

Turnbuckles are from Tichy as are the stirrups and the end grab irons. The rest is 0.125" pb wire.

Are those tungsten welding rods in there?

Yep welding rods. If you didn't know I have a tungsten fetish    Plus they sure aren't going to bend and they add a little bit of weight. They are there to keep the car from warping.

Yep.  I use those (1/8') in my MT underbody detail kit.  the extra weight makes the car run really smooth.

Clever. How do you cut them to length, snap ‘em?

Score around them with a cut off wheel and then snap them.

Usually you need something diamond coated to cut tungsten, but just scoring them works for these small rods.
