@Ed Kapuscinski,That NW2 looks fantastic. I also love what you did with the packaging. A great idea for any custom locomotive.DFF
I've discovered that Neolube is just ideal for that as a wash, because you can let it dry and then wipe it off the surface so that the 'blue' still shows on the grille with the black way down inside.
Lookin' good. I'd recommend lightly sanding the stacks as you can still tell it was brush painted. I guess its shininess brings it out. I've found that a mix of light grey and silver with maybe a drop of brown looks good for things like stacks and galvanized roofs.
Very nice Ed!Are you leaving those couplers?
Awesome job Ed ! I agree with Dave, excellent idea for the box ! Are you taking on jobs ? I'd like a couple done for my Gettysburg engines
I agree. They might get some more attention. But I'll say this, the real ones were NASTY looking. I've been using Polyscale "Flat aluminum" so far.For now. I might go 905 at some point if they really annoy me. I actually like the knuckle size, but they DO stick out quite a bit.Check yo email! Thanks! I love making stuff like that. I'm planning on doing a few more too.Now if only I could get custom foam cut for it.
Now if only I could get custom foam cut for it.
Why didn't you use the original Kato jewel case with the original foam insert?
You can! There is a company in Baltimore that we use at work that does custom foam cutting for accessory kits, tool boxes etc.. Orlando Products http://www.orlandoproductsinc.com/index.html
Ooh! And you think they'll do one offs for a reasonable price?
