Very nice. I see a lot of possible purchases out of those road names, the J, CIM (for a short line repaint) and IAIS to name a few.

SD 38-2 would probably be more proto for a switching unit circa 2000+ than the SD40-2, no?

I sure hope the paint on the DM&IR version matches that of the long ago DM&IR tunnel motor release - a nice deep brown. Very likely not, but I can hope. DM&IR fans may recall the "SD45-2 debockle" of the past.

Sorry to whine Intermountain. I thought it best to mention it now and get it over with. After all, this is the Railwire.

The hoppers interest me.  With the C&S heritage one I could do a weird time warp exchange with @Dave Vollmer

Nice, as my user name indicates I'm very interested...

Also love the new tank car announcement UTLX and CGTX will be most welcome...

DM&IR fans may recall the "SD45-2 debockle" of the past.

Yeah that salmon colored loaf was very disappointing... I believe Intermountain got alot of flack from those...

We can hope they learnt their lesson (like Kato with the CP SD9043macs :) )
The Railwire is not your personal army.

A surprised they didn't run other road names too. Finding plain old BNSF mineral red or UP cars on this body is now expensive on the eBay.

The SP units are a surprise to me.  There were 6 total, and were used as switchers in the Colton yard. Theye used to only have a slug between a pair, or an SD7 in the middle

No family lines?
No seaboard system?
No CSX?

That will be the second run, 6 years from now.

Lets not forget the two South Shore's unit...

Still a long time in coming (we all know how IM releases go) but it is good that someone has recognized that these units should be done in N!!!

Actually by 2000 SD40s started to see use as switchers on a lot of hump yards.  The greater horsepower, tied to slug, allowed larger cuts of cars to be handled compared to the SD38 variants.  I have even seen an SD50 that was in use as a switcher at Charlotte, N.C. which was even more of a surprise... though I have not seen this quite as often a SD40s in this use...

Wow, no UP, they have like almost 40 of them.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.
