Great job on upgrading a factory painted loco! I tried that once and decided it was easier just to strip it and repaint after the mess I made removing grabs and such. So you have a video of the lighting effects you can share?Craug
Nice job Tom. When did the Virginian acquire these? I seem to recall too late for my Spring '51 era? Thanks, Otto
I've been working on this factory-decorated Atlas N scale SP GP9 and added SP light packages to both ends as well as BLMA 15" drop grabs. I also finished installing a LokSound Select Micro decoder in it today with the EMD 16cyl 567BC (FT) sound file, which sounds great. The unit has functioning headlight and gyralight effects on both ends....
Thanks, Craig! Yes, chiseling off the molded grabs was a pain! Sorry, no video (yet, anyway). I don't currently have a membership to any video hosting sites.
Looks great Russ! One of my favorite Kodachromes since the real #2873 is at the Western Pacific museum at Portola, CA. -Ryan
PMT terminal is coming along:Thanks,Wolf
I totally agree. I always thought Kodachrome wasn't a bad paint scheme. Now you need to make it more SP, REALLY dirty!
If you take the video on your phone you can upload it to Photobucket.
Agreed... the road weathering is wonderful, as are the roadway proportions. Balance between scale compression and accurate appearance is a trouble spot for a lot of modelers. Wolf's work should be a guide for doing it right. The oily streak from vehicles pulling away from right turns at the stop sign is especially astute.
Wolf, I gotta say that's one of the nicest looking industries I've seen on this forum... Luv the realistic sized parking lot– don't often see that.
Yes yes yes , what Mick said above and that road looks great also . Love the era and the errorless PMT Terminal Wolf .
