Intentional anachronism here...  I chose to build the original wood plank platform instead of the replacement concrete slab platform (no one's exactly sure when that change happened) that was there during my era.  I think the wood platform is more visually appealing.

You hack.

Finally starting to get close to being done.  Still needs tower roof shingles and flashing, chimneys, door stoops, signs, decorative ridgepole trim, and platform details (plus probably some other crap I'm forgetting).  So.  Many.  Shingles.

Believe it or not, it’s still not done! There's still more decorative trim, lots of signs, and the usual platform details you'd find at a depot.

Sorry.  I would have responded sooner, but I was making poopy in the potty.

At long last, it’s done!  I decided to add a little more activity to the platform than I’m used to seeing in photographs.  The next step is to install it on the layout.

Well, theoretically it's train time when your visitors will be seeing it, so more activity makes some sense.

Yes, it did!  Kinda makes Foam Depot look crude by comparison.  ;)

This looks fantastic!  How does the kit rate as compared to other craftsmen kits like Banta?  Similar in construction??

Pretty similar.  As much as I love Bill Banta's stuff, Ragg's is just a touch better engineered with meticulous, no-step-left-out instructions and tons of photos.  Banta's instructions could stand to be a bit more thorough, but Ragg's instructions come in a spiral-bound book and are exceptionally well written.

That natural lighting really makes the detail pop.  Are you sure you want to put it inside on the layout?  I'd bring the whole layout out into daylight if I were you!
