It looks like a standard Evans, but with a full height ladder:

It's clearly a yellow boxcar.  Seriously, Tom, do you even try anymore?

I think he was asking about type and not color.  The type is a South Shore boxcar, clearly.

I don't know if it's relevant, but most of the South Shore is under catenary. Maybe they needed the full-height ladder for some sort of maintenance reason? Can't imagine that it'd be wise or safe to be on top of a car under catenary, though.

Hmm... I think it's a
pretty box car...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

I think that's just the corner grab.

I can't give you its pedigree, but here are instructions on how to build one in HO:

Apparently, at one time, it was different colors

If you're comparing it to the Atlas Evans DD box car, it's prototypically totally different.

The reason for the full ladder is the hand brake.  The other side probably has that ladder cut.  The car as-built had a running board.

For the sake of this thread, that finished car still isn't true to the prototype.  For one thing, I believe the car in Tom's photo has a diagonal panel roof, not the x-panel of the Athearn car.  And I would still argue that the ends and sides are not correct.

Too add to that, they were built 11-64.
