So
Serious question

If you’re doing the middle division

Why are you using a non-pennsy station?

Just asking

Could be time to Scratch It Out

Yes it's inspired by the middle division.
But the plan is to have the future permanent layout be the middle division between mt union and Huntington. With a large focus of running a large number of trains from east staging to west staging and vice versa. This will be my "side chick" layout.

Serious answer: I don't know...

I think it could be time to scratch it out, I need to find a prototype now instead of being lazy.

Thanks Eric.

If you don't want to completely scratchbuild a structure, one solution is to modify the Walthers Pella depot kit as described here:
http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/t/121464.aspx

Or, as suggested at the end of that article, there's some resemblance between the Walthers Santa Fe-Style brick depot kit and the depot at Mifflin:

Agreed. I think one big sweeper will be FAR better scenically than a bunch of "wiggles".

Yep. The "squiggle curves" track plan is a legacy from the cramped crowded try-to-make-it-look-longer-than-it-is legacy of HO scale. Banish it! A train (esp passenger) sliding through a huge radius curve looks extremely good, rather than wiggling like a snake down the ROW. Yes, tracks curving back and forth are in real life but on huge radii, not squealing curves. An S-curve stretched along 16 or more feet would look good -- in 16 inches looks bad.

Thanks for the links!
I kinda like the idea of modifying the Walters kit.

@Dave V did your modified station get sold with the JD? I know this was replaced later on with an accurate model of Lewiston.

Unfortunately my Pella depot was damaged when I removed it to make way for DKS' model of the actual depot.

Haha my thoughts exactly! Going to start looking for a pella depot to modify like @Dave V did.

There's a "your mom" joke in there somewhere!  :D

Let me see if I can dig it up.  As I recall it was only the platform that suffered damage...a big crack (go for it @chicken45 !)...but the platform was already in rough shape having been denuded of all of its platform detail for the new Lewistown depot.

I spent the day home working on the Layout.

Placed all the tracks for the yard/mine lead.
All feeders are dropped and wire for frogs.

Added a slight curve to these 2 switches so I could angle the ladder a little bit

I also got all the frogs powered that currently have switch machines. I highly recommend the DCC Concepts switches over tortoises. This is what your looking at from under the layout! I didn't even have to worry about getting the Left and Right wires wrong for frog power. Since you can just flip it in 2 seconds.

I still need 7 switch machines and 3 more LH #6s to finish the trackage. But I'm getting close!

My wife also decided that our 2 pups and Cat should get to see what all that little noise was

1.  I’m glad to be “that guy” here.
2.  Dave you actually offered to send me your old station for free a few years ago.  I always thought that was a kind gesture.

I notice in your very nice track work and turnouts that you are using Printed circuit boards to join track. Are you using these in lieu of track joiners and are they easy to use.
I'm thinking of applying the same to my new yet to be started HOn3 layout.
Thanks Rod.
