What about smoothing out the curve on that center module and doing a creek mouth crossing a la Sherman's Creek?

Layout construction was started this weekend. Benchwork and roadbed where both completed.
I`ve updated the plan with some changes made.
Notably adding hidden tracks for staging.
Removing a track in the city to add a visual break between the mains and sidings(Think I`ll also double up the cork so the mains rise above)
Changing the one middle section to a bridge.

Construction

Step one Build a module to use as a workbench
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

The boxes are constructed of 3/4" Ply with a 1/2" deck
They are pocket screwed together
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Adjustable feet where made out of square Poplar blocks with a T nut and a 2" carriage Bolt as the adjustable foot
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

We created a small jig for drilling out the holes so we didn`t take out more material then needed
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

The Legs where created from 3/4"Ply with 1/2" cross braces
Again these were pocket screwed together and then they where screwed into the base of the module

To secure the completed Modules together we used bolts.
Screws were used to first hold them all together then holes drilled and 2 bolts per joint added in. Then the screws were removed

Next we marked out the center lines along with the cut line for the jigsaw

After cutting out all the pieces we installed risers to get it up to 1 1/2" off the lower Ply

Finally put down all the cork I just need the sheets for under the city

Used my recently purchased chopper to cut ties for my #8 crossovers
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]
I then printed out the fast track templates. Marked what size ties go where and glued them all down to the paper template.
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]
Here it is with all the ties glued down.
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]
After that I set the switches down into the ties, verifying everything was good and then glued them down to the ties taking care to not get glue on the points.
I also soldered a wire to the frog to connect to either a tortoise or Cobalt switch.

Anyone have any experience with the cobalt switch machines?

I had the same problem this weekend because of my food poisoning. Eventually, they did stop, but it was three days of hell.

Finished the middle module and started on the last straight module on this side once I'm done I'll be at 50%

I also settled on using cobalt switch machines for tthe turnouts.

I'm going to have to offset one of the point motors for this switch though!
