The first two AC&Y diesels were Alcos Ed, delivered 1942 and 1945.  Probably war production board assignments.  They ordered FMs after that and then purchased the second hand S2s starting in 1962.  If I were to do another S2 it would be 104 in NKP black and striping with the NKP road name replaced with AC&Y.  Should I ever find a factory painted NKP model the temptation might be too hard to resist.  I'd need decals though.

Nice work on the 105, I see the ACY had a similar handrail situation the Nickel Plate to prevent crewmen  from being thrown over while exiting the cab.

Nothing to it.  Measure.  Measure again.  And again.  Draw a template.  Assemble the template into a 3D soldering fixture.  Measure again.  Take a deep breath.  Begin bending .008" pb wire.  Swear and pray.  Repeat.  Use a light touch with the soldering iron.  Swear and pray some more.  Clean up your half-a**ed soldering attempt (My soldering skills are just adequate enough).  Exhale.  See, simple.     I'm glad I don't have a fleet of these to do.

I mocked up the Goodyear Akron synthetic rubber plant this week.  Using a Sanborn map, a couple of aerial photos and some good old fashioned guessing I think I have something that looks reasonable, for a start anyway  Most of it is gone so who's gonna know?

True enough but I've not met them yet.  How does it go though - Build a model and someone will invariably step forward to tell you what's wrong about it.  Actually kind of hoping that will happen.  Then it's 20 questions (or 200 maybe) time.

Yes the SBR plant was a B&O customer, but I don't let little things like facts get in the way of a good build and ops opportunity. 
The pipe racks and steam expansion loop will be part of the build.  And the reality is Archwood Ave is on the other side of my model as built.  Kind of like my General Tire structure (a mirror of the prototype) I laid out the site per the prototype but flipped Archwood to the opposite side.  Sort of disconnect connector thing, if you know what I mean.

An aside;  I'm building the B&O Akron Jct. engine servicing facilities for a layout here in NE Ohio.  The engine house is done and I'm closing in on the coaling station. Since it's (gasp) HO scale, the buildings required quite a bit of selective compression/elimination.  @LKOrailroad would have a field day picking apart that build.
