Just the other side of my door layout

I was able to add 48x20" rolling stock drawers to each side of the layout.

Breathtaking layout! Love these photos and the ones you posted previously. The scenic divider and the distinct, beautifully-scenic'd scenes really creates the illusion that this is a much larger layout. Love it!

I've always wanted to model VIA Rail's "Canadian" but figured Rapido would release it so I left it on the back burner. It doesn't seem to be on the horizon for Rapido, and a deal on a bunch of ConCor stainless cars came up on eBay for a price I couldn't say no to so I decided now was the time to build the train. Of course now that I'm invested Rapido will announce. Interested parties can thank me later.

I have 7 stainless cars. I'm not going all out and relocating windows. Just enough modifications to make them look right. This consisted mostly of removing or altering the skirts. Today I got the Park car, two Skylines, and a Diner complete. Next is a coach and two sleepers. These together with my Rapido Daynighters, Coaches and E-sleepers will make a very nice train.

Very nice Alcos Chris, and Craig, those Con-Cor cars are pretty nice and make good looking Canadian cars.  I converted one to a Park car (Tremblant Park) complete with stainless patches on the rear fluting where they experimented with tail lights before they made the higher light boxes.  Nice work Craig.

The sky was made with stencils like Pete said, but I didn't buy them. Just looked at a photo of them while drawing  :D so they might look similar.

The other little bits of images from ScenicKing http://www.sceniking.com/CATZN.htm

You made your own cloud stencils? That is cool!

I think my friend used these: http://www.modelrailroadinguniversity.com/productstencils.html (or something similar).

UNRELATED EDIT: I don't see John's images either.

Merry Christmas to all!!

Ron

PS Ed K. when you visited the M&H you were only 20 minutes away from the EL Southern Tier Division...

Oh man, what was I thinking? I should've given you a call when the weather was a bust. Damn.

New London Industries out of San Antonio made the cloud stencils and they were the best. Out of business. Some
where a few years back I put a tutorial up on them.

Merry Christmas all ..

I have this empty spot on the upper level of the layout where the water pipe for the house goes up.  I really wanted to put something there to hide the mess

I initially thought I would just cover it with some foam board ..

but then an idea .. copy some sides from the Walthers Paper Mill

and put in a new industry ....

not seeing them, just x boxes

Chopping up a perfectly good FVM GP60 to make a GP59.

Looks great! Very clean modeling! Looking forward to seeing more on this as I was contemplating a GP59 bash too.

P.S. @tom mann why is the gallery adding 300lbs and subtracting 3 feet from me?
