On the industrial side of my door layout I had this spot planned out for a culvert.Turned into this. The small pump house building is cut from Middlesex Mfg. walls.
Rick, 15 years after you received your book, I received the third printing of the book, My is very worn and some of the pages are now missing to time. (Flip phone included for size reference)Like you, I drooled over this book, but my favorite chapter is number 15, page 179. The story of the Bellefonte Central that served State College PA.Sure the Mighty P company and the Central were in the book, but a little short line in central Pennsylvania. I've been fascinated by short lines ever since. Thanks Rick for the walk down memory lane
Yeah, I didn't make a big deal of it on TRW but a few months ago I was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia after having sudden onset of stabbing, electric shocks all over the left side of my face, through the jaw, the cheekbone, and behind the eye. MRIs showed a compression of the 5th cranial nerve by a vein near my brain stem. The surgery I had on Tuesday was called a microvascular decompression.
On the industrial side of my door layout I had this spot planned out for a culvert. And then I added some pipes on the side for interest.Question: Should I keep the pipes or scrap?
Survived brain surgery and am now doing the slow, painful recovery thing. I have 14 staples in my scalp along with a patch of titanium mesh over a quarter-sized hole in my skull.
Dave, You and your family continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Are you allowed to work on the layout or are you on minimal activity until further notice?
So if I cut the arch from thin styrene I should be able to paint/weather it. Once happy cut the hole and glue on. Put some rusty bars up behind it.Don't know if I like my arch though. Might re-try with a wide oval instead of circle.
Great Weekend Update! Lots 'a good modeling going on! With more goofs and setbacks I would care to mention (I seem to be becoming all thumbs lately ), I managed to get my "phase I" GP60 kitbash into fresh paint and decals.......trying to beat the FVM release, as I probably wouldn't otherwise finish it once they come out.
I managed to get another decoder installed as well as a pilot conversion on this older Atlas/Kato RS3 for @Blazeman . 20161127_145916 by Adam Henry, on FlickrI also managed to get a decoder in this SD40-2, after again snapping a piece off the frame where the board picks up power. Have to quit doing that 20161127_162535 by Adam Henry, on Flickr
