CP has a ton of AC44's and ES44's sitting around.
The lead unit takes a beating, packed snow can short traction motors etc. Why would you want to do that to the newer GEs?
9500 series AC4400's are basically gone, most 8500 series AC4400's are back from storage. They're not spring chickens anymore... and CP (read EHH) isn't maintaining the newer GE's all that well. They're being run into the ground and are not sacred cows.
The Railwire is not your personal army.
The 8500s were going thru CAD for refurbishing, don't if that is continuing.
