Fans in GP30s

This is a bit of an understatement, the GP30 and GP35 need alot more then that... what they need to do is tool entirely new models. (to bring them up to the GP40/38 standard)
Hopefully when it comes their turn for sound ready frames they will get new shells to go with it...  :D

To go along with the GP30/35, how about slugs for CSX so I don't have to scratch a couple :)

How about the loco transmitting the sound to a wireless set of earphones . Instead of the feeling of watching and hearing the sound as a birdy or alien , you can be the engineer and not have all that dobbler effect distracting you .

The fan mistake on the Atlas GP30 would be a non-issue for the CSX slugs.

But the reality is that we are like birds watching the trains from hundreds of feet away. What you want would be prefect for a train cab simulator (where you sit in a 1:1 scale replica of a locomotive's cab.

"uh, when was the last time Atlas brought out any N passenger cars?"

1947-48, ex #2861-2945 series, Santa Fe Pullman Car Co. 44 seat leg rest coaches, No skirts...  must also be painted in Ph1 Amtrak.
Oh, and please.

IIRC They announced their intention to make a line of 60' heavyweights in N. similar to their O scale line  :)

I'm with Peteski on this one  :P and I think we finally have respectable sound *scaled* to our models' size with the better manufacturers and new speakers. I don't get the desire to have full blown sound effects coming out of a 3 ounce model... but I guess that's a subjective, personal thing.

For me either a FM H10-44. H12-44 or even better a H20-44. However a Baldwin AS 616 or similar would also be nice and I don't know why, but my guess would be on that. Atlas has already made in the past some not so very common diesels as f.i. the VO 1000, the FM Trainmaster, the H15-44 etc and I do like all those engines.

I bet it's an N scale GG1. I mean, practically everyone else is doing them.
Personally, I'd like to see some competition in the children's novelty shoe dept.
Or a Rolling Thunder and Lightning setup where they flash occurs before the boom.

Alternate version:

He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Reading T-1 would be cool, in case I ever want to run an east coast version of the AFT.

However for me, GP39-2s and GP50s. But the GP50s will get announced as soon as I finish my 3...

Yeah, but Richie has a good point.  Some people would want sound as if they are riding the locomotive that they are controlling.  In a perfect world, perhaps Richie's dream sound project could have an option to switch to railfan mode for those who want the sound as if trackside.  That would be pretty cool to have the sound through ear buds where it wouldn't disturb others.
