But those trucks look like they've been produced by Micro-Trains. And the couplers, too.

I'll probably buy one of those APC containers to support the cause, even though I can't find any evidence of it's being a prototypical scheme for a rib-side box.   Although Walthers did do a similar one, they did it in silver with APLU markings.  More container variety is always acceptable on stack trains.

What's this mention of a TTX runner pack in the OP?

A helium car, wow. An unusual but very interesting prototype. These were very heavy cars for their era, 200K CAPY on four axles. The Roco model is unfortunately rather dated. Maybe with some work, like thinning the thick braces and filling the truck mounted coupler gap, new running boards, better stirrups? Hmm...

Instead of buying the new MTL model it might be cheaper to pick an older one up from eBay then do all the modifications.

edit: Digging a little deeper it looks like APCU is mostly if not all 53' containers so the MTL scheme should be correct 

Although I'm not sure about the 43xxxx number most seem to be in the 48xxxx series...

I hope and wish that the Airslide Hoppers will be in pre-merger/pre-1990 paint schemes.  After the release of the NS/CSX hoppers, it would be nice if Micro-Trains would release hoppers in NW/Chessie paint schemes along with older GACX schemes.

Yeah, those are good prototypes for the scheme Walthers did.  They have APC logos but the actual reporting marks are APLU.   The MTL version seems to have APCU marks and be painted white, not silver.  I don't know, maybe I'm misjudging the color of the MTL photo.  Also in all those links you posted it seems like the reporting marks might be patched, so maybe all those used to be APCU in the 43xxx series, but that's largely speculation. 

If it is supposed to be the same scheme as the Walthers then that's disappointing.   Some of those Walthers containers were among the first and only mail order model railroading items I bought as a teenager, over 20 years ago (before the internet took over as discussed in that other thread).   Walthers did about 5 schemes in the first release and never in two decades did any new artwork, although they did produce a couple more runs of the same thing.   So then MTL tools its own and the first release is ... one of the same schemes, seriously?   As someone said in another thread, I just don't understand manufacturers sometimes.

Scroll down to Runner Pack section. MTL should also do these in the old brown TTX scheme, and did any of these cars carry the PRR TrucTrain logo?

It looks silver to me, (compare it to the white on the McCloud River Box) but I guess we'll have to wait an see (or see MBK's photos on the 12th)

I'm also wondering about the APCU reporting marks, from online photos it looks like it was used on 53' containers not 48'...

@Shipsure is there a photo we can reference to settle this?
