Problem with Paragon 2 decoder lighting

I finally went and bought an A/B set of the Pennsy E8's  They run really well and look great ! I seem to have 1 problem though , I can't get the headlight to work right . I have JMRI and have tried everything I can think of , but all I can get is the headlight turning on in the reverse direction and off in forward . I tried changing the direction from normal to reverse , but that has no effect . I think I did a reset , but I may try that again . Is anyone familiar with their lighting CV's that could help ? ....Thanks .....Mike

I have one with the same problem.  For the time being I gave up using it as the lead loco (fortunately I have another for that role).

Hopefully someone can tell us the solution.   I believe I tried a reset as well, but it did no good.

I got it working finally . Had to do a couple resets CV8=8 . Now I remember why I HATE Paragon decoders ! Sound is good , but setting them is a pain in the a$$hat ! LOL I had @woodone replace the decoders in my M1's , But I think I'll try to live with these .
