Nice choice of prototype, but hopefully the aren't as crudely made as their previous offerings.  But then again, my standards are quite different from the majority.

We noticed. I for one was pleased with many of their 1970's sedans as they are a real improvement over the plastic offerings. Not as good as @jimmo makes for his WillModels line; but those are solid anyway. I expect t find homes for well weathered versions of the sedan and the pickup.

. . . and if they all don't find homes after their initial release, they should be available at 70% off the MSRP few years later (just like many other offerings from them).

These aren't new models per se, just new paint schemes on previously offered models.

I would have been interested in the cars, but this is the first I heard about them, and orders closed Monday.  Good way to attract customers...

From BLW page: Classic Metal Works has announced the following new vehicle sets in N Scale. Their order closing date is 9/26/16. I'm sure we will have extras ...

Unless this run was very small, I think you have a good chance of getting them after they are out.

How can a company that is (was?) owned by N scalers make such junk.I have some of their HO cars and the same in N scale. They look like they were made by different companies. I gave up on CMW ever doing a decent N scale vehicle.

Thanks Catt!  Good to know that I'm not the only one who sees the poor overall execution of this  models.

They have their issues, especially in the wheel department. They can be made to look better, but thinning door pillars and adding new glass can be time consuming.

Lucky for us that we have alternatives available from Shapeways.

Shouldn't the thread title be....Old CMW cars get new paint jobs?

I wonder what became of their poll. Seems to me they phoned it in and just re-released old models. Why would that need a poll?

The Shapeways route still does not provide window inserts, and liquid windows don't look good to me.....IMHO, N scale needs more GOOD vehicle manufacturers...like Trainworx, but with cars....

I concur but we'll never get the variety for each era we all want fast enough.  Shapeways is the best means for doing that; but you're right that the window issue needs to be resolved.

CMW has given us the largest array of RTR vehicles . You guys would bitch if they hung you with a new rope . Thank you CMW for not dropping N scale from your production line as planned a couple of years ago .

We sure would if the rope had very soft details and thick glaze-like paint job!   :D
