I'm on the fence about these. I haven't gotten any yet.On one hand, I have an N5C in CR already, and there's just something about them I don't love. I think it's that the cupola is too short or something. On the other hand, these look light years better than the earlier run.
Had to get one to run behind a train pulled by M1a. Copy on BLW site says it has FVM wheels. If so, these are the dullest FVM wheels I ever saw. Did run car over alcohol damp paper towel. Got a bit of something off wheels. Car does not roll well, either. That could be a plus though. Joe D
I thought about you the other day, @Ed Kapuscinski, when I saw these pop up on MBK's website. I wondered if they had addressed the issues that caused you anguish over previous runs.DFF
The ride height is too high, no surprise there. Bowser kept the overall height of the car the same off the rail, and kept the sidewall panels the right height. So the roof gets "squashed" to compensate for the higher floor - there is not enough rollover at the sides of the main roof, and the cupola roof is nearly flat.
Ok, thinking about solutions...
3D printing? Anybody? @Lemosteam ?
Are those brass spacer washers I see showing between the trucks and the underframe? Can those just be taken out?
