Just received an email from IM for a release in the N Scale Value Line of Gunderson 50ft. high cube double door boxcars.
http://intermountain-railway.com/modelersclub/?page_id=1673

These would be the former LBF/Huberts cars, right?

Yep. Good to see these popular cars are back.
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

With new tooling! Note the dreadnaught ends!
The original LBF cars had non terminating ends...

This is exciting news, with so many announcements lately im going to have to serioisly consider multiple eras...  :)

Nothing in this run for me  :D

Hopefully they can start sticking to the time table for the release date.  I wouldn't hold my breath right now though....

On the BN car there is an ACI label and a two panel consolidated lube tag. ACI was late 60s early 70s. Two panel lube tags were 80s on right? Did these run in original paint with ACI labels long enough to get two panel lube tags?

The ACI label was mandatory from 1970 to 1978 (they could be found 1967+ (1965 on DMIR)

The Consolidated Stencil first appeared as a single panel in 1972. This was replaced by the two panel version found on the BN car in 1974. this again was replaced with the smaller 3 panel version in 1978. All three versions can be found to this day.

The BN car is correct for a car painted from 1974 to 1977.

[wallet runs and hides]

They are all nice roadnames and schemes, except for the swoosh of course.  ( )    Might have to get one of each.

So what are dreadnaught ends?
And are we any closer to having a model of this car?   :D

Looking forward to seeing these in 2019!

Closer yes, exact no... here's a photo of the ends in question http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/bn/bn376415amh.jpg

and for comparison here is a more modern non terminating end (on a Trinity single door car) http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1835836
The original LBF cars had something similar to this.

Thanks.  I might be willing to accept a dreadnaught end as a stand in for the ... what would you call it?  ... on the OCE car.  Definitely closer if not exact.

I'm honestly not sure... The OCE car was built by Pacific Car & Foundry, perhaps its a proprietary PCF end? or Stanray? Curious to find out aswell...

If you could build a shrink ray before 2019, Cannon makes those ends in HO:

Off the top of my head, some of UP's 40' grain cars that were rebuilt into 50' cars received new ends with bifurcated ribs, also some of CNCF's 5000 cuft car production.

Yeah, maybe a shapeways part for some bifurcated ends?
