Just doing my daily check of MBK page and they are listing numerous roadnames of Intermountain 4750 cubic ft covered hoppers in stock !  And after all those, they have some ExactRail listings available as well.

I am amazed by they number of road names and numbers that they released with this.  Could our Conrail experts explain if the H56A for this release were used for food service use?  I know the RBMN hoppers were used for fly ash, and I was wondering if some of the other hoppers released were used for non-food service use such as chemical/mineral use.

Thanks,
Adam

Personally, I think this is an issue for why some items get cancelled by Intermountain.  Simply too many choices at once.  17 roadnames and 98 road numbers.

Interesting.   These are a lot of the roadnames that have been cancelled over the past 2-3 years.   I see at least 3 that I had on order at one time.   The hobby shop I had them on order with is no longer with us, and I'm no longer actively in n-scale.   Some nice schemes...that Producer's Grain car is one of my faves.
NOTE: I'm no longer active on this forum.   If you need to contact me, use the e-mail address (or visit the website link) attached to this username.  Thanks.

What is the deal with the Producer's logo?  The Central Committee approves!!!

The Conrail H56A's were most likely used exclusively in grain service.  They are gray, but the repaint/reweigh is in 1985.  At that point in time, Conrail was painting all covered hoppers gray, regardless of service type.  I may get a couple to backdate and renumber to some I can use.  Thank you.

LOL!  That sounds like something you would see in the Soviet Union in the '70s!

IMRC 100T trucks and a tangible surface to mount a coupler box would be nice.

Producers Grain is fine people's cooperative serving workers of Texas!

It seems it was just randomly designed - just amazing how it mimics Soviet-era styling....  :)

MBK description lists MT trucks and couplers.

The trucks on the ones that came in the mail yesterday have metal wheels, and are definitely not made by Micro-Trains.
