Is that itch related to post 236? If so, might want to get to the clinic.  :o

I just ordered four of these excursion cars in different colors, along the lines of what the modern day Tweetsie Railroad has.  Tweetsie RR is coming back to the Doe River Gorge!

I also bought two of these tank cars, which are real good stand-ins for the ET&WNC's tankers:

All of these cars were on sale at Trainworld.  The excursion cars were marked down from $44.99 to $29.99, and the tank cars were on sale from $39.99 to $24.99.  Kinda made it easier to pull the trigger.  I might scratchbuild any additional freight cars, which I did in HOn3 in the early 1990s.

Dragged out one of my ten-wheelers, and realized that it had the wrong pilot wheels.  They're supposed to be spoked wheels.  No problem, because Bachmann includes a number of spare parts in the box to customize your 4-6-0.  Way to go, Bachmann!

It only took removing two screws to get the pilot truck off and swapped out to turn this:

. . . into this:

And now!

18" radius in O scale for the win!  :D

The cars might make it under the bridge, but not the locomotive using the calibrated eyeball test.

Now that’s funny!  Thankfully, Larry’s Truck and Electric only deals in diesels.  :D

Ahhh my favorite part of the country! The last time my family was up there I was in high school; got to talking to the engineer while they were on the rides and I was able to ride in the cab around the loop. Man was that a blast!

I love it there.  I wish I'd made it out to western NC more often those three years I lived near Raleigh.

@wm3798,

Aw, Lee, you lucky dog!  You’re in one of my favorite places!  I miss western North Carolina.  Have fun and stay safe!  Looks like all of the Tweetsie RR train rides are sold out today, or I’d point you in that direction.
