Managed to get some paint on a caboose I've been scratch building.

I am very impressed!  I've been trying to get up the courage to build one of these for years!  If I could build one, I wouldn't have to restrict my modeling to Annacis Island where they run sans caboose.

Work resumed on #6 A/B. (I started these in late 2012)
Decals, clear coat and window glazing were done today.
I still need to install lighting, grabs and details but they were running around the test loop tonight.

Well I have fully recovered from the family vacation to the Magical Kingdom, so time to get back to it! While there, we visited the Lego store at Disney Springs where I filled a bucket from their wall of bricks. Here's the results of an evening of assembling, next will be kragle and primer...

Sounds like are actually modelling the railway. I'm just doing a few of the trains. Is it you that beat me to the box cars on eBay a couple of weeks ago?

It is debatable to what extent I am modelling the railway.  Proto-lancing at best! 

No, that wasn't me competing with you on EBay.  I have pretty much one of each road number of every SRY car made and multiples of a few like the Catalyst boxcars that were made with only three road numbers.  While I have a few BC Hydro locomotives including the MP15s, the vast majority of my equipment is SRY.  There just hasn't been a lot done in BCH.  Particularly, I don't think the centre beam flats have ever been done in BCH. 

I do have the Mark4 shells to do the SD38-2s and the SD38AC, but still haven't built them.  I don't think these shells have been available for some years.  One day they'll get done!

Cool!  I have a kitbashed Sd38-2 and an SW900 both painted in BCH blue.  Both are ready for grab irons and final assembly.  The SW900 has a black roof but that has since been stripped and repainted blue.  Turns out it was just really dirty in my photo!





Pacific Scale Rail (no longer in business) did a special run of some Micro Trains box cars, in both blue and yellow BCH, a long time ago.  Like maybe 15-20 years?  They are pretty rare but do come around from time to time.

I actually have 4 of the blue that I bought from George sometime in the 80s when he was still on Lonsdale.  I have a couple of the yellow scheme as well.  Actually, it may be more than a couple.  I can't remember!

I've been getting some good time in on my 2x4' layout. Track is own, land forms are mostly finished and I just got a base layer of brown paint down. Its good to be making progress again!

Those are the Walthers MOW hoppers.  I had someone print decals for me, including the lettered doors.
