I just bought myself one of these:That's right! A Bachmann On30 East Tennessee & Western North Carolina R.R. (ET&WNC) ten wheeler. Like what happened to @Dave Vollmer a few years ago, the narrow gauge bug has bitten me again after about twenty years since I last dabbled with slim gauge in HOn3 and G. The track planning begins tonight, after I finish poring over my twenty-five year-old copy of "Tweetsie Country" by Mallory Hope Ferrell.DFF
I grew up near Asheville and explored this region of NC often! I have always had an interest in this little railroad. A while back I found this little gem, a short film from 1949 on the ET&WNC in color!

I've always like it too...neat film! Well, it looks like you don't have to worry about ballast in 1949...just grass!
Sad to see the Mars light gone, it was special and defined the "face" of this loco. Anybody know why it's gone?In memoriam:
In June 2013, the red Mars Headlight was removed from the engine and stored.
