Will the 70 and 100 ton trucks be made available at some point? My stash is getting low.

Since we're asking any plans to release the Andrews, 50 ton S-2a and National trucks seperately?

Since we're asking, any plans to release the Andrews, 50 ton S-2a and National trucks separately?

Were those the Hart Ballast Car trucks?

Yes the National C-1 trucks were used on the Hart cars.
The 50 ton S2-a were used on the Ps1 boxcars.
And the Andrews were used on the USRA boxcars.

And I would like the 100 ton truck with 33" wheels!

Curious, is there an application for this?

Why only trucks? Don't leave out the compact cars and mid sized sedans.  :D

I can't speak for Tom, but I prefer this combination. The flange on the 33" wheels matches the dimension for a prototype 36", so it looks accurate for modern prototypes in overall size. The flange on the 36" wheels matches the dimensions for a 42" wheel. So the 36" wheels tend to look like loco wheels when photographed from a railfan angle. The fact that the flange is shiny draws the eye to this fact.

Some people only care about the face of the wheel so this would be irrelevant to them. I'm going for a better overall look.

Interesting... What do you use to represent 33" wheels?
To me it is more noticable that there is a difference between the two, rather then the exact diameters.
Wouldn't 28" be way undersized?

All of the prototype cars on my line use 36" wheels. That is one of the advantages of modeling a short line and knowing exactly what cars are being utilized. Every now and then there is a car with a smaller wheelset (yes I've measured) due to having a wheel set ground down, but most are within the range of a 36" wheel.

You are right that the difference is noticeable. That's why I'm taking all mine one direction. It is one of those personal preference areas within our hobby.

I was under the impression that Atlas will continue to offer the BLMA trucks.

Atlas is including BLMA trucks on new releases of BLMA cars - example:

http://www.atlasrr.com/NFreight/nf89jflatcar.htm

I would also like to see Atlas offer the following:

  • Atlas' Barber S-2A friction-bearing 50-ton trucks
  • Atlas 22061 Friction Bearing Caboose trucks (I need these for AMB caboose kits)
  • the Atlas Andrews truck

We just received a shipment of the BLMA 100 ton trucks that were on order with the factory at the time we purchased BLMA.

We just received a shipment of Atlas 50 ton friction bearing trucks, 70 ton roller bearing trucks, 100 ton roller bearing trucks, and 40 ton friction bearing trucks, as well as Atlas 33 and 36 inch metal wheels.

Now that we have the factory producing the separate stuff, we can move on getting the trucks such as the C1 and caboose trucks, that have not been available.
