I know about the tie spacing and all, but have you looked at Peco c55 single- and double-slips? Unlike the toyish appearance of all the other brands, Peco's trackwork is amazingly realistic (for a commercially-made slip switch). But they are pricey.

I see two newly-tooled models being announced in December. FMC 5077 Double Door 50' Box Car, and Trinity 5660 Covered Hopper.
Well, at least the GP30s, to use as a core for the GP30B. I have a couple of Hallmark brass versions, and it would be nice to retire them given their quirks.
