Anyone know that the deal is on this flat in Trailer Train use? I was under the impression that the Flexi-Vans ended circa 1974 on the PC.

Ordered 3 Mark 3's , don't know yet if they are good for the pre 60's yet , but I will love them . Thank you Trainworx   :D :D :D

Oh well the 3's came out in 1961 , I will live with that .

Here is what a Mark 2 looks like , an 80'er for a max of one 35' and one 40' container .

I'm in for an IC if it gets made in case I ever want to model the "Land O' Corn".

I don't know for sure, but my guess is that they were rebuilt for container only loading.  Here is a link to one in the TTX scheme taken in 2005.

@Robbman posted this about them.

Mind you even he states its an educated guess. Maybe Pete has more information?

Did Milwaukee have any of these? or were their cars all earlier versions?

Whew, dodged a bullet there! When I saw the email this morning I was afraid it was another round of 53' trailers. A few months ago I was seriously deficient in 53' trailers for my flats, now it's the other way around.  :P

The cars have G-85 printed right on them.  That probably moves it beyond just a guess.

That TT VTTX flat is hot... definitely a needed model. Have seen shots of them in service as late as 2005, so a lock for my late 80's era.

Yup. I'll probably only get one, but at least I can get one.

As I said in the N scale convention thread, I did not expect to see this car get made in the container conversion version, but I'm really happy it's happening.  I might even have to splurge for some Flexi-van versions too.

Hopefully he's made them to fit DI 20' containers.

I forget, do the Trainworx Flexi-van wheelsets pop off easily so for use with these cars?

The Trainworx bogie is a press fit into the bottom (floor) of the trailer.

I'd like to have some of the General American flats, to replace the old Con-Cor cars, but it looks like these won't find a home here.  I doubt that there were many Flexi-Vans in central Montana in 1974, and the VTTX car shows a rebuilt date of 1984, which make it too modern, even though COFC cars were in use in my area and era.

They do look like nice cars, though...

and the VTTX car shows a rebuilt date of 1984

I think that's when the VTTX reporting marks first started.
