Sad to know that it's very likely that I'll never see these four AEM-7s ever again.  :(

These four units were being towed out from Amtrak's Bear, Delaware facility, and then they headed north on the Northeast Corridor.  I shudder to think of their ultimate destination.  Hopefully, Amtrak will consider donating some of the AEM-7s to museums.  They're worthy.

The consist consisted of:
AMTK GP38H-3 #527 (not in the picture but at the other end of the train)
two AMTK Amfleet cars
four AMTK AEM-7s (#s 940, 943, 945, and 925) , and
AMTK GP15 #577.

Those KCS units ran an autorack train on CSX the same day as the Amtrak farewell to the AEM-7.  Caught it at relay, MD.

Dave, good news: one has been preserved at the RR Museum of PA.

@Ed Kapuscinski, that is good news!  Thanks for the heads-up.  And to think it now resides less than one hour from my home.  Now, somebody get the museum to paint it in Phase III paint, please.

That'd be nice.

But you know what? I actually kinda like this paint scheme too. I didn't at first, but it's really grown on me.

You know, if Kato made one of them in this scheme, I'd probably get it.

My old friend got this 80 tonner loaded for transport. The locomotives were donated to him by McDonald steel. The center cab was lifted and the Alco pushed the flatcar under it. The guys were welding up the blocking when I got there.

He had a Gopro mounted to the Alco the whole time so once that is edited down there will be a video. The center cab is going to the Lake Shore Railway Museum. TTX donated the flat car and CSX is shipping for free. Only costs are lifting on and off the flat.

Here is a video of the Wuhlheide Parkeisenbahn right outside of Berlin:

This small railroad is 600mm gauge and is mostly run by children, which is quite common for park railroads in Europe.

Caught an ethanol (1987 - 3 on placard) train outside of Mt. Airy MD on Friday.  Had open 3-4 bay hoppers as buffer cars.  I was first in line at the crossing, thanks to 3 people in front of me go thru the flashing red lights.

 :?
could some of those AEM-7s be heading to Naporano in Newark ?
wasn't too long ago at Ivy City watching a new AEM-mouse run past a GG-1.
time and technology does fly !!
notice that E60 603 has a GSC FB-3 under the cab.
what sort of truck is at the rear ?
nice to see S-2 777 still running !!
