Finished up another project - Gunderson AP 53 single well cars.  Here's the baretable version:

The cars are from kits by N Scale Kits and are not shake the box by any means.  But a fun and rewarding project.  Decaling these is a whole 'nother thing, used cuts from four different sets.

And yes, that fence need some work!

I've actually made great strides in building several dozen trees for my layout recently.  I wish I had the time to kick out one or two dozen more this weekend, but I expect to get zero hobby time over the next few days.  So, I'll post the end result of last weekend's efforts, which I neglected to post on the Weekend Update at that time.

First up for this weekend is a picture of some tree bark.  Hit with grey primer, then flat black highlight to look like rock face.  This is again for the O scale layout I'm helping out with.  We'll see how it looks in a couple weeks.

On N scale front, I hope to get a few cars decaled and continue working on Security on the Hanover Sub.

You could make a diorama with it and use Z scale . Wonder if anybody heard of a layout done in multi scales for that reason . Not good operationally , but more accurate proportionally for a highlighted venue such as in this case .

 Z scale layout is going to the immediate right of this layout.It will set 4" lower.If I could afford that many Z scale coverd hoppers there would be a grain elevator on that layout.

It's been forever since I contributed so I humbly offer the following D&H hacks. They represent the prototypical, quick repaints when the D&H "absorbed" some of the Reading cabeese. Weathering to follow.

Slowly and steadily moving forward on the layout. Currently testing which method of pouring the concrete platforms is better – skimming the top with a metal blade once it starts to set; or adding a top to the mold with weight. I'll find out later today which is best. I suspect the latter. This is the location of a freight building next to the station, so the tests will be hidden from view eventually.
