So who can I bug for parts?  :D
I only need coupler clips and a conductors side grab iron for the rear...

A 00-90 screw would be a good replacement for a missing/broken coupler clip.

Russ, was going to start looking now, but I think Daniels offer is better. Might want to get a shell for myself! However, I do know I do not have any wheelsets. Lot's of folks recommend better looking NWSL wheels.

Not enough material to screw the box into.. Let alone for threads to hold... It's about a MM thick... and I'd rather not drill through the pilot deck.

Is there room UNDER the coupler box for a 00-90 nut?  If so, cut the head off a screw, at the right length to go through the deck, flush with the top, and just hold the nut on the bottom.  Drill and thread the hole, glue the screw into it, so both the threads and the glue hold it, and put the box over that.  The screw becomes a threaded stud, the deck is still smooth and can be painted to hide the screw end, and the box is still easily removable.  I've successfully screwed 1025s to 0.02 styrene, which is about half a millimeter, without using glue, so gluing it in should work even better.

Or, would an Atlas or Kato coupler clip work?  They should be available as parts, if they have one that would fit.

Still don't want to drill through the deck  ;) but not a bad suggestion.  :D
As for Kato and Atlas, I have tried numerous other clips and nothing works, not even one from a LL GP20... Which is odd...
From what I have seen and have been told LL designed the SW series clips to be skinny for truck clearances... So nothing else would work I suppose.

Could you make a clip from sheet brass and a brass rod?  Bend a strip to the right shape, drill a hole in the middle, and solder the rod into the hole?  It wouldn't have to be the exact same shape as the original, as long as it would clip into the existing holes and match the coupler screw hole.

That would be a problem...

How about the brass coupler pockets from this thread that only require a screw to hold the coupler in place?

Back home now. Everyone who requested parts please be patient. I lost my glasses in the way back and literally can't pick out an SW1200 from an NW2.

No problem, Daniel. Good luck with your glasses situation!

I'm happy to report that I was able to straighten-out the bent wheelset. I finally found the rear light casting too but the contact strip is still MIA. I'm afraid that the sill damage is beyond repair as well.

I might have a diagram from Ebit, of a new contact strip, that you would have to make yourelf. It bypassed the problem of the strips on the shell.

Russ, I just looked at some papers I have saved from the Atlas board, could not find Ebit's pattern for contact strips. Wish he was around here. If someone was to produce these on a quantity basis, there could be a lot of customers. I'm racking my brains trying to remember his solution.

JoeTrain, tehachapifan, & All,

Below (hopefully) is from a CAD drawing created from a posting going back about 10 years.  I suspect this is what is being talked about here.

Clubber, sorry, but that's not what Ebit had drawn. Wish he was around. Still might be in the Atlas forum archives. I did some searching there, maybe not enough?

Yea no joke. Need something for the MTL SW15 as well...
And how well does brass hold on to plastic with CA?

Still no luck with my SW9 coupler clip as well... Oh well.
